Personal
Development
Betty Smith
Ø Decide what it is you want from life and how you
will achieve it. Keeping a journal is a
very effective way to develop your life plan. You can keep track of
your ideas, feelings, and learn new strategies for
dealing with life. You can also refer to
your journal to see how you dealt with past situations which
can help you deal with similar issues that are occurring
presently.
Ø Break free from your beliefs that you have
limits. Let
go of thoughts and emotions that are holding you
back. Think
positive and don't let anything or anyone interfere with
your progression.
ØBecome more in tune with yourself and
your intuition and let your creative side
out. Learn
how to listen to yourself and find out what lies within
you.
Ø
Realize your self-worth. Remember that you are a
unique individual with skills and talents. Learn to recognize
self-critical thoughts and replace them with more
positive thoughts.
Ø
Successfully change your thoughts, feelings and
way of thinking so you can continue expanding, growing
and prospering.
As young children we didn’t hold back or deny
ourselves anything as we were growing up. We didn't give
ourselves limits as children and due to this we continued
to grow and develop from a child into an
adult. Somehow along the way from childhood to
adulthood, we have placed limits on our skills and
abilities and we begin to question whether or not we can
meet our goals. Young children don’t
seem to have the fears that we develop as adults, life is
so much simpler and easier to cope with and deal withas a
child. A child’s mind is open and they continually
use their imagination and intuition, they are not afraid
of what they can and cannot do. It is only when we reach
adulthood we hold ourselves back and make things
complicated, we still use our mind but we use it the
wrong way, we turn it in on ourselves. As adults, we have to
continually learn, adapt and better
ourselves. We must remember to stay positive and
sometimes we must leave our comfort zone
to overcome new challenges and meet our targeted
goals.
